When the PTVR project’s leaders (i.e., the oldest members of the team 🙂) were children, they saw dragonflies everywhere during their holiday in the countryside.
Since then, they have sadly noticed this was not the case anymore. And this is unfortunately acknowledged by many scientists, as shown, for instance, in this excerpt:
We must conclude that dragonflies are valuable, and that they are threatened throughout the world through habitat loss and pollution. Therefore action to conserve dragonflies is urgent. A wide range of measures is required. (Moore p. 6)

The PTVR team, therefore, decided through our logo to draw attention to this wonderful but endangered animal. Not to mention that this animal’s eyes should be eye-catching for Scientists working on Vision.
